In the beginning of the 20^th century when the thought of enlightenment of the masses was pervading in all spheres of life “Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha” shouldered the responsibility of imparting education to the people.  This institution was founded in 1969 to give tribute to the herculean efforts of late Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik made for the struggle for Independence of India.  The founders of the institution had dreamt of providing quality based knowledge of various fields to uplift the masses. They had the only aim of leading the downtrodden, backward and tribal masses from the darkness to light, from illiteracy to higher education. 

The vision of the institution “DURITANCHE TIMIR JAO” [ दुरितांचे तिमिर जाओ ] is an idea from the great “Pasaydan” that leads the downtrodden and backward sections of the society from ignorance to knowledge.

Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Nashik is one of the fastest growing educational institutions in Nashik district with a democratic setup, catering to the educational needs of Nashik district. There are approximately 1000 employees and the institution provides education to 25, 000 students through its 58 educational branches spread over the District. It has a well-defined Constitution. The Management is elected by its 7000 Life Members after every five years. There are 29 members in the governing body, elected from various tehsils of the district. 2 members are nominated from the staff as their representatives. The governing body members are elected every 5 years. The Sarchitnis (Secretary) looks after all the day to day affairs of the institution on behalf of the Governing Body.

Keeping in mind the view of education to all the institution has started the Engineering and Diploma College. The year 2011-12 was celebrated the birth centenary year of Late Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik, the result of which several social programmes were arranged by the institution.  A special cover was released by the Indian Postal Department to perpetuate the memories of Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao.

Kr. V. N. Naik Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha’s Arts & Commerce College, Dindori was established in 2001 with just 70 students at the beginning and now in the academic year 2018-19 about 1037 students are taking higher education in different faculties of the college. The reason behind starting a college in the tribal area was to promote education to people in rural, tribal and backward areas and prepare them to improve their own lives, social awareness, inculcating moral values in the society. More than the 70% of our students belongs to schedule tribe. Lack of educational facilities prevented them from making economic progress. Agriculture has been the main occupation. This resulted in poverty and inequality. Hence the management had decided to provide the platform of higher education to such weeker sections. The college had got the PG in Marathi and Economics. Now the college is permanently affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

The college got  2f&12B recognition of the University Grants Commission In future the institution would like to start a Science Faculty and PG in English, Politics, Geography and History and computer science.

To sum up, academic excellence, social relevance, leadership and character formation have been the defining goals of our college.
